If You're Serious About Small Vintage Dolls, This book is a Must-Have:

Hi - I'm Nancy Kerson

Disclaimer: I am just a small-time and occasional researcher. I made this website to share what I had learned one year when I got interested in thes small Ginny-type dolls. I'm not in the doll or antique business and I don't do appraisals.

And I know NOTHING about any other kind or size of doll, or any other time period. Honest!

ABOUT THIS WEBSITE:

PHOTOS:

Whenever possible, I have pictured dolls from my own collection, or those of friends who have given their explicit permission to use the photos.

However, There are some dolls that I have found too expensive to own, but that are essential to comprehensive coverage of the dolls in this genre. In such cases, I have used photos gleaned from Ebay listings. These are noted as such.

To the best of my knowledge, this is perfectly legal, but if you recognize a doll that is or was yours and you do not wish to have it displayed here, please notify me and I will remove it at once. Or, if you prefer, I will be happy to give you a photo credit.

I love getting emails from viewers who enjoy the website - it makes my efforts feel worthwhile!

I don't really like getting criticism, but I know that it's sometimes the best way to improve, so send it, too, if you wish.

About Nancy Kerson, the WebMeistress

I grew up during the 1950's. It was a fine enough time, although I actually like NOW better... I'm not a Nostalgia Buff. But I have always had a penchant for finding and immersing myself in little obscure niches of interest.

I did play with dolls as a child, and my favorites were my Muffie, my Virga-of-color, and my Ginny. Aunt Jane made tons of wonderful clothes for them. The dolls went the way of all well-loved, over-played-with toys, but many of the clothes survived.

A few years ago I thought it would be nice to find "a Muffie" to display wearing one of Aunt Jane's outfits. Thus began my adult interest in these old dolls, and my discovery of the rich variety of "Ginny-Types" that were made during this era...

In real life I have 3 jobs: I work in fundraising and development for the non-profit program, Vine Village, Inc., which was started by my husband's family in 1973. (See http://www.vinevillage.org

Vine Village provides services to people with developmental disabilities. (My sister-in-law, Debbie, has Down Syndrome)

I have a home-based Website Design company, www.Outfitters4Cyberspace.com

And my true passion is horses, especially wild ones, and I am very involved in producing an annual event, the Western states Wild Horse & Burro Expo, held each year in Reno, Nevada.

I have 2 children, a wonderful husband, a great extended family on both sides, and many pets. I also like to paint, especially faux. Most of my spare time is now used training and enjoying our small herd of horses and donkeys.
