Fab-LustreCreme Premium Doll: Thanks to Geneva "Beez" for sending this scan of 1974 More Twentieth Century Dolls, From Bisque To Vinyl, by Johana Gast Anderton, page 497, about the Lustre-Creme Starlet dolls
The LustreCreme doll has Fortune characteristics (lighter-colored, softer plastic arms attached to body with the "tube" arm hook)
Colgate-Palmolive had a similar doll: Colgate-Palmolive Doll & LustreCreme 9-inch "Starlet" Doll has characteristics consistent with the 9-inch generic doll made by Fortune/Virga, and is similar to Roberta Walker:
- Tube arm hook
- toes rather than molded-on shoes
- arched eyebrows
- knees have 2 dimples
- individual fingers
- hip-pin leg joint
Fortune Pam, Virga Playmates, and PMA Joanie were all used by Fab and LustreCreme circa 1955 as their 7 1/2-inch "Starlet". (Note the difference in arm color on the Fortune doll, whereas the Virga doll's arm color matched her body.)
Here's a Virga Playmate as the Fab Detergent Premium Doll
This 1953 Fab-LustreCreme strung doll by Virga.
