| The 8-inch "toddler" or "child" format was so popular during the 1950's that the market could support a wide variety of dolls in a variety of price niches. Some of these dolls were unique designs of that company's own. Other companies used dolls, doll parts, or molds purchased from the larger companies and packaged under that company's label.
The many lesser-known and seldom-seen dolls offer the collector the opportunity to pick up a doll in excellent condition at a fraction of the price of a Muffie, Ginny, Betsy, or Wendy! An exception to this is Richwood's Sandra Sue. She is rare, but has a strong following of collectors who are eager to pay her price! There may well be more dolls that I have not yet discovered. As I find them, I will add them to this website.
